I remember holding Nuru in my arms after her birthday. It felt like the Lord was entrusting me with a precious soul and asking me to care for her until he returns. From that day on, I promised the Lord to live a life that would make my baby see Christ in me.

A wise man once advised me to live a life that would make my wife, baby, family, and world love God more. I know my baby Nuru will aspire to marry a missionary or a pastor because I am setting a good example. My calling should not be a burden to them, but a blessing, especially to my wife and Nuru. And I thank God because it is a blessing.

Happy birthday, my girl, and blessed is the womb of your mother that carried you for nine months. I believe you will love her even more when you grow up and hear more stories about what your mother, Dorcas, went through when she had you in her womb. I believe you will also love me more when you hear about how I married your mother and how I care for her.

My girl, you are growing up so fast. You are now 2 years old. Whatever I do now, it is for your own good. As long as Jehovah lives, I will make the world a better place for you and your mother. Do not fear, the Lord will be with you. As long as I am still alive and there are people/family who care, you will never lack any good thing!

Shine for Jesus, my girl, as I watch you grow!
