    Cornell note taking strategy - image from Google.  The Cornell note-taking method is one of the best strategies for avoiding plagiarism and enhancing learning. I have chosen this method for the following reasons: It has three different sections that serve different purposes. The cue column helps me record questions that arise during the lecture and prepare for exams. The note-taking column helps me record what I learn in class in my own words. The summary section helps me reflect on the main ideas and concepts of the lecture. (Uopeople, 2021) This note-taking method helps me study by allowing me to review my notes effectively and recall the information better. It also helps me avoid copying the professor’s words verbatim, which is plagiarism. Does the consequences of plagiarism surprise me?

I am not surprised by this. It is fair, because we should not steal someone else's hard work and pretend it is ours. That would encourage laziness and I would hate to have my hard work stolen too. Critical thinking is essential. It is one of the reasons why we study. Plagiarism only makes us think less.
