Exploring the Depths of Conflict: A Reflection on “Popular Mechanics”

“Popular Mechanics” is a short story by Raymond Carver that depicts a domestic dispute between a couple over their infant. The story reveals the intensity of human conflict and the tragic consequences of their actions. The couple’s selfishness and anger lead them to endanger their child’s life, as they fight over who gets to keep him.
